Voodoo Moon Gourmet Cocktail Party Pays Tribute to the Late Michael Kerns and His Passion for Helping Others

On Saturday, Aug. 25, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville will host a special event in honor of one of Ellicottville’s most notable, the late Michael Kerns. Dubbed “Voodoo Moon – A Tribute to Michael Kerns,” the event will take place at John Harvard’s Pool and Cabana Complex at Holiday Valley Resort.

Over 160 people are expected to attend this upscale dinner party, which raises funds for the Rotary Club’s Foundation for Youth – just one of the many organizations the late Mr. Kerns supported. The event is open to the public.

This year’s party kicks off at 6pm and will surely bring the spirit of New Orleans, with Cajun food and Zydeco music providing the backdrop to a gourmet cocktail party atmosphere. A large spread of mouth-watering entrees and desserts will be catered by many local restaurants, and served station-style by the chefs themselves.

Sink your teeth into a sneak peek of menu items: a traditional Crawfish Boil, Jambalaya, Seafood and Andouille Gumbo, Blackened Catfish, Chicken Fricassee, Creole Beef Daube, Hushpuppies, Dirty Rice … just to name a few.

Beyond the food and the company, this is one of the most fun events of the year, and also features live and silent auctions – your chance for some great bargains on some really wonderfully donated prizes! Attendees will also have the chance to spin a wheel to win a voodoo doll, bringing the energy of the party to a whole new level! For those of you who knew Michael Kerns, you know that this is an event he would have loved.

Get your tickets soon before they sell out! Tickets are $65 apiece and are tax-deductible. Contact Kegs at 716-699-8758 for tickets, additional details about the event, or if you’re interested in helping out in any way. Tickets are also available at the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce office.
